With the help of professional photographer, workers at the Humane Society of Utah recently came up with an ingenious way of helping some of their four-legged friends find forever homes.
They placed some of their harder-to-adopt animals in a photobooth to capture the dogs’ winning personalities on camera.
What they recorded was absolutely priceless!
The staff shared the pictures via the company’s Facebook and Instagram pages and we’re delighted to report that most the rescue dogs were quickly adopted.
23 Rescue Dogs Pose for the Cutest Photo Shoot
Roughly 8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters in the U.S. every year…
But sadly, only half of them ever get adopted.
To help improve the situation, the Humane Society of Utah made a series of whimsical, passport-style portraits featuring their adoptable dogs.
Guinnevere Shuster is the photographer who came up with the idea.
Her goal was to capture every pup’s actual personality; both the serious and the playful sides.
“This photo shoot […] is a much better way of presenting them as opposed to the sad dog behind the metal bars,” Shuster said.
Since the beginning of the photo booth-inspired project, most of the shelter dogs have been adopted.
In fact, the Humane Society of Utah claims their placement rate for dogs has reached 93.26%.
Which one do you think is the cutest?
