CertaPet cares deeply about supporting individuals with mental health conditions and improving access to mental health care in the US and globally. While emotional support animals have been questioned for their legitimacy, experts have long touted the effectiveness of animals on mental health. Still, there are many misconceptions around emotional support animal legitimacy, who can prescribe Emotional Support Animal letters, and how they benefit those who receive them.
Emotional Support Animals are a non-invasive form of daily therapy that must be approved by a licensed mental health professional. An ESA letter must be in accordance with the Fair Housing Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Air Carrier Access Act and when traveling by plane to our from the US.
